In 1963, Isabella "Bella" Swan, a sweet daddy's girl, goes with her family to a resort in upstate New York's Catskill Mountains. Bella has grown up in privileged surroundings, and all expect her to go on to college, join the Peace Corps, and save the world - all before marrying a doctor, a man just like her father. Instead, Bella finds herself drawn to a different side of the resort - one filled with dancing, lies, and sex. Unexpectedly, Bella becomes infatuated with the camp's dance instructor, Jacob Black, a man whose background is vastly different from her own. With Jacob as her new teacher, Bella learns the steps to a new dance - a dirty dance - that allows her to discover new strengths and new talents in order to define her place in a rapidly changing world.
